Our cats available in our Foster care homes and that are showcased on our website change often. So please continue to browse our Available cats page for all of our current cats and kittens and their locations. Our goal is to find the purrfect forever homes for our cats & kittens, so we match them with their potential families based on personalities, lifestyle, etc.

Adoption Process:

  1. Browse through and fully READ the bio descriptions of each of our cats to make sure they completely match your household lifestyle.
  2. Complete an online Adoption Application submission. You MUST fill out every space on the Adoption Application or it will NOT be accepted or processed.
  3. Once you submit an application, a volunteer will review your application, check your references (vet-be sure to let them know we will be calling, landlord, etc), and will contact you via email to set up a phone interview with you about the animal and answer any questions that you may have.  We ask that you allow us at least 72 hrs after the time of your application submission to contact you (this can be longer due to any unexpected emergencies or the season). Our first point of contact, will always be through email. Please note: we only process adoption applications during weekday business hours Monday through Friday. We are volunteer based and we get a lot of inquiries, etc. so please be patient. Do not send us multiple inquiries via email and/or phone.
  4. If approved, we will then set up a meet and greet with the entire family during open adoption hours to spend time with the cat you’re interested in. (all persons living full-time in the household must be present during the adoption process).
  5. If it's a match, we will then set up a date and time for you to take your furrever family member home.
  6. Please understand that we reserve the right to deny an application for any reason if we feel that it is in an inappropriate home for one of our cats. We cannot respond back to every email inquiry that we receive, therefore, only applicants approved at that time for a specific cat(s) will hear back from us.

PLEASE NOTE DUE TO KITTEN SEASON, WE ARE EXPERIENCING AN OVER ABUNDANCE OF EMERGENCIES AND REQUESTS FOR HELP THAT CAN LEAD INTO DELAYS, SO IT MAY TAKE LONGER THAN USUAL TO HEAR BACK FROM US.

**WTRF does NOT do same day adoptions to allow our adoption counselors time to call your landlord and vet references, etc.

**WTRF does NOT do single kitten adoptions (unless you have a kitten of similar age already in the home), we also do NOT break up bonded pairs.

**WTRF only adopts locally, and does NOT do out of state adoptions.
